Russell, Christine

Christine Mae Russell (nee Smith), age 90, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024 in Westlake, Ohio. Christine was born in West Virginia to Leonard and Harriet Smith and had an older brother Carl (dec). She moved to Akron, Ohio as a young woman and had many interesting jobs including teaching ballroom dancing at Arthur Murray and selling refuse service to a horse race track. Christine later lived in Kent and Twin Lakes, Ohio where she raised her four children Kim, Jennifer, Julie, and Matthew (dec). Her children were everything to her and she enjoyed cooking meals from scratch and celebrating birthdays and holidays with them. Christine adored her grandchildren Cara, Jacob, Ryan, Isabelle, Lilly, and Abby, and her great grandchildren Gabriella and Jade. Christine was more of a city girl than country girl and enjoyed visiting New York City. She also loved music and poetry, and tending her roses on her patio in Chardon where she lived for almost 20 years. A service and life celebration will be held Sunday December 29th at 1:00 pm at Pilgrim Church 202 S. Hambden St Chardon, Ohio.

Davis, Lauren

Lauren Devon Davis, a cherished resident of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024, at the age of 59. Born on January 19, 1965, Lauren was a beloved daughter, mother, and friend, known for her compassion and dedication to others. Lauren graduated from North Olmsted High School in 1983, where she attended Polaris Career Center, honing her skills in commercial art. This experience laid the foundation for her lifelong passion for arts and crafts. She began her career in industrial production and manufacturing at Thomas & Betts, where her strong work ethic and attention to detail were evident. However, her true calling emerged later in life when she pursued a career in healthcare. In 2009, she earned her medical assisting degree from Remington College, leading to a fulfilling role as an activities coordinator in several healthcare facilities in Pennsylvania and Ohio. Her work as an activities coordinator was more than just a job; it was a testament to her deep commitment to enhancing the lives of others. Franklin E. Fearing, age 97, of Bay Village, Ohio, November 26, 2024. Survived by son Christopher and his daughters Kelsey Fearing and Kayla Vogelsang (Marc), daughter Sarah Kocinski (John), their daughter Angela Martin (Brett) and their daughters Maya and Kinsley. Preceded in death (2013) by his wife of nearly 63 years, Marian Cox Fearing. Born in 1927 in Lawrence, Kansas, son of Albert H. Fearing and Mary Martin Fearing. Stepmother, Twila Shoemaker Fearing. Half brother to Harold Fearing (Virginia), Evelyn Dvorak (Wilfred) and Julia Fearing. Also lived in Iowa, Texas, Virginia and Oklahoma. World War II Army service in Philippines. Graduate of University of Kansas and Harvard Business School. Career employment with Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company and Centerior Energy Corp., retiring in 1987. Private family graveside service. Interment, Lakewood Park Cemetery, Rocky River, Ohio.

Orsuto, Jean

July 24, 1933 - December 5, 2024 Jean Orsuto passed away peacefully on December 5th with her daughter, Roberta, by her side. She was born on July 24, 1933, the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Koskondy) Ginn. She attended Ashtabula High School and began working at Isleys's Ice Cream, Ashtabula General Hospital, Montgomery Wards, and Geneva Bell Telephone Company. She married the love of her life Robert (Bob) Orsuto on December 27, 1958 and they were blessed with two daughters, Roberta and Sherry. Jean continued to work outside of the home in various retail and service industries: the school cafeterias as a lunch aide, Jupiter's, Hills Department Store, K-Mart, and the job she enjoyed the most The State Liquor Store, where she quipped how she knew every drunk in town. The life of the party, Jean was spunky, spirited, and fun! Jean enjoyed all the professional Cleveland sports teams. Connie was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Mary and Michael Bonadio. She was the oldest of 5. They moved to Cleveland when she was a teen so her father could be closer to his shoe-making shop, where she would help out when she wasn't at school. She enjoyed working and always had interesting jobs including working at the Five and Dime across from West Side Market, Annunciation school in the office and in the toy department at Kmart. She loved being around people and always met intriguing ones while at work. Connie was the beloved mother of 6 children who she raised in Cleveland and then in Brook Park with her husband Thomas. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. James A. Shiban, aged 87, of Northfield, Ohio, went home to our Lord on Saturday, November 30, 2024 after a brief stay at the Hospice Center of Southwest General. Born in Cleveland, he was a generous, caring, and giving man who loved life, his family, and the Church. His Catholic faith and love for God was always a staple throughout his life. A beloved father, he is survived by his children Cheri (Doug) Rieth, Gerri, Jim (Lisa), Dave, and Kristi. He is grandfather to Tracy, Stacy, Terry, Sabrina, and Nicole as well as great grandfather and uncle to many. A beloved brother, he is survived by Tom (Marie) and sister Kathy (Steve) Hudak. He also cherished his many relationships over the years with countless friends, especially Jimmy, Mark, Dave, and George. Edwin Arthur Cristman, born on August 3, 1954, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He was the beloved son of Joyce Cristman and the late Edwin Arthur Cristman Sr. Ed was a devoted father to his children, Stephany Yaro, married to Joe, and Justin Cristman, married to Alicia. His role as a father was one of his greatest joys, and he took immense pride in his family especially with his two grandchildren, Harper and Nolan Yaro. Laurence Woodrow “Larry” Bruner July 31, 1943 – November 19, 2024 Larry was the first of five children born to Ruth and Woody Bruner and spent his early years in Cincinnati, Ohio. According to his family , he was very bright, creative, mischievous, and had an independent mind. Gifted with a rich singing voice, he spent several years attending the Catholic Diocese of Cincinnati Choir School. When the family moved to Cleveland, Larry went to St. Ignatius High School, graduating from there and later from John Carroll with a degree in economics and speech. Larry was truly a child of the ‘60s - in the best way. He enthusiastically took to the new music that emanated first from the folk and later rock music scene. He also wrote a column for the folk scene in Cleveland titled “Coffee Is My Drug,” but more accurately it was music that was always his drug. It was his life-long passion to grow and nurture the Northeast Ohio music community. Miguel Angel Delgado Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 11/17/2024 in Elyria ,OH at the age of 66. Miguel is survived by his father Miguel Angel Delgado Sr of Caguas, PR ; his Wife of 33 years Betty Delgado of Elyria, OH ; His Brother Edwin Delgado, and sisters Wendy Delgado- Olmeda, Jannette Delgado- Olmeda and Ivette Delgado- Olmeda and his children Miguel Angel Delgado III , Annette Floyd, Janette Delgado, Miguel Enrique Delgado, Christine Martin and Danielle Iris Walters and several Grandchildren. Miguel passed away peacefully after batting with health complications for some time; on a beautiful fall day with the sun outside, slight chilly breeze and bright colored leaves falling on the ground outside the window while surrounded by his family. With immense sadness, we say goodbye to Anthony J Place, beloved family member and friend. Anthony was born in Tiffin, OH and grew up in Medina and graduated from Medina High School in 1999. Anthony continued his education at The University of Akron, graduating, in 2004 with two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Mass Media and Communications. Anthony was very successful and passionate about what he loved. Whether it be the thriving and very successful remodeling business, his never ending passion and dedication to shoes and his love of nature. His soulful nature and light he brought into many lives will be forever be missed. Anthony is survived by his sister Annaliesa Place, Diego Garcia, Calima Garcia (9), Vera Garcia (6), many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Milton Place and Mother Winifred (Muska) Place. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to LifeACT and/or NAMI in Anthony’s name.
