Darla Jean Gareau peacefully passed away on November 1st, 2023. She courageously lost her battle with endometrial cancer at home surrounded by family and friends. She was born on October 29, 1962 to Donna (nee Dial) and the late Donald “Buddy” Gareau. Darla’s spirit will live on through the father of her children James Wayne, her three daughters; Courtney, Hannah, and Rebecca, her grandchildren; Adrianna, Mila, Alayna, and Brady, she was known as Aunt Lala to her many nieces and nephews, her siblings; Dennis-Loucinda, Donald, Daneen-Rob, Dawn-Sam, Donna Rae-Kirk, her late sisters Diana and Danelle. Darla made everyone feel like family and was the life of the party. She loved entertaining and being surrounded by family and friends. She was a mother figure to all. Her greatest joy in the whole world was her grandchildren. Darla’s wishes were to be cremated, she will be posted in the bulletin at St. Mary’s of the Falls. On Saturday and Sunday November 11th and 12th at Noon mass, and mentioned in the program on Wednesday November 15th at 7:00 am. Her daughters will continue to host a fundraiser at Razzles in Olmsted Township on November 17th for her final expenses/celebration of life.

    Darla, There is a special place for you in heaven, your kindness, the love you shared with so many of your friends and family did not go unnoticed by the powers above. I will always cherish the great memories I have of you. You fought your battle the best that you could now it’s time for you to rest.
    To Darla’s family, I send my deepest sympathies. Now is the time to be as strong as possible and to celebrate her memory…. Let’s laugh like she always did.
