Carol Sweeney

CAROL FRANCES SWEENEY of Asheville, NC, a free spirit in life, and now forever more, died suddenly on July 8, 2013 in Chesterland, Ohio. Born on April 28, 1961 to Peg Borland of Asheville, NC and the late Martin L. Sweeney of Cleveland, Ohio. Carol was raised in Avon Lake, and graduated from Avon Lake High School in 1979. She served as a Tactical Aircraft Mechanic in the United States Air Force and later became a Registered Nurse working in the Washington, DC area.
She leaves behind her beloved children: Bryan Pelham of Coeur d’Alene, ID; Andrew Sweeney of Salt Lake City, UT; Clair Sweeney of Berryville, VA; and Neil Sweeney-Haney of Myersville, MD. She is also survived by her siblings: Jeanne Reavey (Patrick) of Frederick, MD; Madeleine Jones (Bob) of Urbana, MD; Kevin Sweeney (Irene) of Gainesville, GA; Michael Sweeney of Frederick, MD; and Kathleen Savitz (James) of Gaithersburg, MD.
Carol’s passion for healing was matched only by her unbridled pursuit of art. Her creative spirit can be found in her poetry, painting, songwriting, sculpting, and drawing. Her love of life can be found in the memories of the people she left behind.
Private visitation will be held on Friday, July 12th from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Malloy Memorial & Crematory in Cleveland, Ohio to be followed by an open ceremony at Huntington Beach.
