Lisa Gail Anderson passed away peacefully on Monday March 31, 2025.

Our world is somewhat diminished from the loss of her compassion and kindness.

Lisa developed a strong character perhaps due to the loss of her father as a little girl of about 8 years old.

Lisa was determined to excel and to rely only on herself at which she succeeded admirably in her personal and professional life.

Lisa became a Registered Nurse after college in Erie, PA and started her career in the hospital there before moving on to a job in Public Health visiting rural residents in the surrounding district.

She was well suited to this type of work due to her caring nature for those less fortunate than herself.

Lisa married and got a Public health job with the City of Cleveland. This experience led to a job in the Sheriff’s Department of Cuyahoga County as the Manager of Healthcare at the County Jail.

Lisa was responsible for nursing, physicians, pharmacy, contracts and the budget approval before the County Commissioners.

For the building of Jail 2, Lisa brought in up-to-date medical facilities including quality dental care to a sorely under-served population in need.

This was one of many examples of her taking care of others.

Next, Lisa showed her people skills in managing the entire non-profit side of the hospital association, which comprised Member Services, Nursing Workforce, Emergency Preparedness, Fund Raising, Medical Reimbursement and anything else that was thrown her way.

She led a devoted staff because she protected them from politics.

Lisa always had an engaging and endearing smile for everyone. Her largest smiles were for her cats. She was devoted to them and they returned her love accordingly.

At home, Lisa was a fierce enemy of dirt and disorder. In addition to a full-time job, she kept a large house immaculately clean and neat both inside and outside.

Lisa was a self-taught Master at the many hobbies that she enjoyed. These include cooking, baking, pickling and jelly making. Her handiwork included most types of needlework such as counted-cross-stitch, samplers and black-work, to name just a few.

Lisa practiced English horseback riding/dressage at the Metroparks stables.

She contributed to the riding program for the handicapped there; giving and caring for people.

In addition to all that, Lisa was a loving wife and mother. She was wise and intelligent in her answers and surprising or annoyingly right most of the time.

When you can, please remember her in your heart and be inspired by her example of caring, kindness and compassion.

If you wish, please make a donation, in her name, of your time or treasure to a person or organization which emulates the love of which she shared so much in this world.
