George Angus

GEORGE L. ANGUS, JR., 83, of Strongsville, passed away August 25, 2013. He was the loving husband of Janet for 60 years; dear father of Michael (Lissa); Kimberly Kelly (Bob Ainley); Kathy Broman; Donna O’Neill (Kathy Neil) and David (Heather); grandfather of Elizabeth, Jessica, Patrick, Ryan, Dillon, Jordan, Alex and Chase; brother of Marvin. His parents and sister, Barbara, preceded him in death. George and Janet married on August 22, 1953. After graduation from the University of Illinois, including a commission in the Navy, he served aboard a destroyer during the Korean War. His work years were spent in the printing industry. Most important to George were his God, his family and his friends. A quote from a life-long friend: “George was always optimistic and willing to assist friends and acquaintances in helping them, regardless of personal price and time. I have never known of anyone who was a greater example of these traits.” His interests were many: bridge, gardening, fishing, family vacations in Wisconsin, travel and reading. During his retirement he loved teaching driver training to students of all ages. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 276 E. Bagley Road in Berea on Saturday, September 28, at 11:00 am. Memorial may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Southwest Hospice.
