Luella May Blair, age 88, was entered into rest on Friday, June 13, 2025, at her residence. She was born December 14, 1936, in Wallbridge, OH. Daughter of Henry and Dorothy Specht (née Woodruff) both deceased. Sister to three siblings, Hazel Tanzola (née Specht) of New Jersey, the late Donna Smith (née Wingerter) of Mount Vernon, OH and her brother Lynn Wingerter of Mississippi (deceased). Beloved Mother of 5 Children, Grandmother of 4 as well as a loving Great Grandmother. She was formally married to Glen Blair (deceased) and the Mother of the late Amber Wilson (née Blair). Her prior marriage was to William Loney (deceased) and is survived by three of her Children, Rebecca (husband Peter) Beben (née Loney), Cheryl (husband Thomas) Wilson (née Loney), Dale Loney and the late Darrin Loney. Cherished Grandmother to four Grandchildren: Stefan & Danielle Beben, Pamela Wilson, Adam Wilson (wife Hannah) and Great Grandmother to Rowan Wilson. She was both a Stepmother and Grandmother figure to Kimberly Farrah (husband Barry, deceased) née Mitchell and their sons Christopher and Joseph (deceased).

Dearest Pet Mom to her beloved dogs: GeeGee, as well as her late fur-babies: Duke, Tessie, Uno, Buddy, Dusty, Bootsie and Megan.

Well known for her lexical prowess of crossword puzzles, Scrabble, Trivia, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Sharp as a tack. Lucky as a duck. Loved playing poker with her guys, known as the “Dragon Lady”, dragging all your chips away. Carrying on the family tradition of playing Pinochle for hours on end. Dressed to the nine’s, big hats and all, watching the Kentucky Derby and other horse races with family where she undoubtedly cleaned up on almost every heat. She was definitely Mother Nature’s Daughter, whimsically foraging dandelions and blackberries, hikes beneath the trees, wading through rivers with her grandchildren and furry friends, muddy paws and all. She loved the trees, her free flowing rustic and resilient gardening-style, and the sweet perfumy scent of honeysuckle. Student and caretaker of the trees, flowers, birds, squirrels and all God’s Creatures.

She spent most of her childhood in Toledo, OH, in the times of Great Depression. She eventually made her way to Cleveland, OH where she spent most of her adult life. She eventually retired as a long time Inspector from Praxair (formerly Union Carbide) in Lakewood, Ohio. She squeezed the lemon of life, with her adventurous expeditions; whether it be roadtrips out west; camping under the stars in her white Ford Escort; hot-air balloon rides among the clouds; or jet skiing in Australia. Well-read and curious about the world, especially the animal planet. Wise beyond her years. She will be truly missed by all she left behind; but she will continue to watch over all of us and be waiting with open arms and tears of joy. We love you Mom & Grandma Lou.
