Mary Beatrice “Bea” Sidaway (nee McLaurine)

October 12, 1924 – October 12, 2026

Mary “Bea” Sidaway passed away peacefully on her 102nd birthday, October 12, 2026.  Loving wife of Howard (deceased) for 65 years. Mother of Howard John, Jr (deceased) (Kay), Jane Guciardo (Jim), and Susan Leonard (deceased). Grandmother to Ian and Adam (Nicole) Sidaway, Mark, Chris and Jeff (Sarah) Guciardo, and Kyle (Janet) and Ryan Leonard. Great Grandmother to Martha Ann Guciardo, Ian and Dominick Leonard, and Kaeleigh and Isabella Sidaway. Aunt to Linda and Karen Sidaway.

Served as 2nd Lt. Army Nurse Corps 1945, and a member of the Women’s War Memorial in Washington, D.C. and the World War II Memorial in New Orleans, LA. She was an adored volunteer to many local organizations including the John J. Donnelly Rocky River Nature Center, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, and NASA Glenn Visitors Center. Member of Greater Cleveland Volunteers and the Lewis Carroll Society of North America. She had such a caring heart and was quietly donating monthly for over 20 years to both St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

She was so fortunate to have neighbors whom she loved dearly, the Bellidos, Bottiggies, Kay Geissenger, Kappas, Kociubas, Mitchells, Rumanciks, Schwinds, and Walshes.

Services will be private. She will be deeply missed by so many.
