In Loving Memory of Maria c
Maria Calvillo, a beautiful sister, aunt, life partner, and deeply devoted friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2026. She entered this world on January 19, 1962, and left it after a courageous 3 1/2-year battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. Her final moments were filled with love, and her sister was by her side.
Maria spent five years working as an assembler on the line at Vitamix. It was a place where she worked hard, but also where she shared an incredibly special bond with her little sister, Michelle, working right alongside each other every day.
Anyone who knew Maria knew she was absolutely hilarious. She was always laughing, spreading joy, and constantly looking to make new friends wherever she went. She was the definition of selflessness, always putting the needs of everyone else long before her own. Her friends meant the world to her, and she truly lived for gathering together, hosting parties, and celebrating life with the people she loved.
Throughout her long and difficult illness, Maria demonstrated an extraordinary willpower to live. Armed with immense faith and strength, she never wanted to give up and faced every challenge without a single complaint. Her resilience and massive heart were an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
Maria is survived and deeply missed by her beloved life partner and friend, Robin Smith; her brother, Pasquale Calvillo; her sister, Jacqueline (Calvillo) Halloran; her brother, Michael Calvillo; and her sister, Michelle Calvillo. She was the cherished aunt to her nieces, Kristin Halloran, Candace Halloran, Corey Halloran, Ashley (Cipriani) Burke, Jon Burke, and Jessica Makowski. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Pasquale Calvillo; her beloved mother, Marie Calvillo; and her dear nephew, Gerald Halloran. She also leaves behind many beloved cousins with whom she and the entire family shared countless beautiful memories during cherished family picnics at Hinckley Park.
Maria found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved nothing more than casting a line while fishing, cheering on her beloved Cleveland Browns, and relaxing at home with her two precious kitties, Maya and Pablo. Above all, Maria adored her family. She cherished every moment spent making memories with her great-niece, Liliana, and great-nephew, Aiden, who brought immense light and happiness to her days.
Her beautiful, hilarious spirit, unwavering faith, and gentle heart will be missed beyond words, but her legacy of love and strength will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
A celebration of Maria’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Christ Church of Ohio (Columbia Station), 23080 Royalton Rd, Columbia Station, OH 44028.
