July 24, 1933 – December 5, 2024
Jean Orsuto passed away peacefully on December 5th with her daughter, Roberta, by her side. She was born on July 24, 1933, the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Koskondy) Ginn. She attended Ashtabula High School and began working at Isleys’s Ice Cream, Ashtabula General Hospital, Montgomery Wards, and Geneva Bell Telephone Company. She married the love of her life Robert (Bob) Orsuto on December 27, 1958 and they were blessed with two daughters, Roberta and Sherry. Jean continued to work outside of the home in various retail and service industries: the school cafeterias as a lunch aide, Jupiter’s, Hills Department Store, K-Mart, and the job she enjoyed the most The State Liquor Store, where she quipped how she knew every drunk in town. The life of the party, Jean was spunky, spirited, and fun! Jean enjoyed all the professional Cleveland sports teams. For many years she was a Browns’ Season Ticket Holder with her daughter, Sherry, sitting in the Dawg Pound cheering the Browns to victory. She also attended many Cays games with her work associates and friends. She loved to travel, shop, dance, spend time with her family, friends, and best friend, Mark Luoma, drink her coffee “piping hot,” and above all cherish the moments with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Helen Ginn; husband, Bob Orsuto, Brothers Charles Ginn, Joseph Ginn, and Robert Ginn and sisters Charlotte Melaragno and Marie Petronio-Zigman. Survivors include her daughters Roberta Orsuto and Sherry (Larry) Bortnick, Grandsons Rocco Bortnick and Roman Bortnick whom she adored, Brothers Richard (Lynn) Ginn and David (Judy) Ginn, and Sister Marlene Whelpley as well as several dear nieces and nephews. Heartfelt thanks to Jean’s home care givers, Tracy Stowers and Karen Suchala, for all the love and support they provided. A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Jean will never be forgotten. So pour yourself a glass of wine, say a prayer, and toast Jean and wish her a happy journey home.
To Jean’s Family, sorry for the loss of your Sister, Mother, Grandmother, and Best Friend. Jean always made one feel the love nor matter where she was. May you hold the memories of her love for each of you as you continue your journey here on earth.
Prayers to all,
