With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Marquita Anderson, who departed this life on June 27, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on December 25, 1962, to Cornelia and Clarence Smith in Mobile, Alabama, though her heart lies in her true home, Anchorage, Alaska, as it’s where she spent most of her life. Marquita brought warmth and joy into the world on Christmas Day—a fitting reflection of her generous and giving spirit.

Throughout her life, Marquita was known for her compassion and the genuine care she extended to friends and strangers alike. Her laughter filled every room, and her wisdom guided her loved ones through life’s challenges.  

Marquita’s strong-willed nature was evident in everything she did. She faced life’s obstacles with unwavering determination and resilience, inspiring those around her to do the same. Her strength and perseverance were a testament to her character and left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Marquita’s memory will forever remain a beacon of light in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her. Though she is gone from our sight, the love she shared endures,

She leaves behind her daughters and grandchildren Sparkle (Jeffrey, Simone, Veronica, and Claudia), Salena (Latrell, Mya, Leah, Ana, and Naomi), Tia (Emerald), and Tera, as well as countless friends and extended family who mourn her loss and celebrate her remarkable life.

Marquita Anderson will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
