Mary Lou Cassidy-Hexter, age 73, passed away at her home in North Ridgeville on October 25, 2025. Loving wife of Michael Hexter (deceased). She is survived by her children, Michael Cassidy(Beckie); Joan Christensen (Jon); step-children, Jim Hexter and Andy Hexter (Jessica); sisters Patricia Schornik (James); Carol Bristow (William); Jeanne; Kathleen (deceased) and Margaret Lewis (Jeff). She is grandmother to 5 aunt, great aunt and dear friend to many.
Mary Lou’s career in the paper and insurance industries brought her much recognition and awards. Her passion for art, the violin, gardening, cooking and entertaining was shared with family and many friends.
Friends and family will be received at 10 am, Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 342 S Chilicothe Rd., Aurora, OH. A celebration of life Catholic Mass will follow at 11 am. Internment at Aurora Cemetery, 100 S Aurora Rd., Aurora, OH. A reception will follow internment at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made Rescue Village in Novelty, OH or Paws and Prayers Rescue in Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
It was a pleasure working with Mary at Progressive. Her spirit and joy was so warm and welcomed on our team. Mary will be missed and I send my prayers and condolences to her family during this time. Know that our God is with you.
