Byron Oliver Elie, age 45, passed away suddenly on Wednesday June 24, 2026 after a short illness.
Born on May 1,1981, at Booth Memorial Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, Byron was the cherished son of Constance Elie and Richard Gabriel Elie. Byron brought a unique light into the world, seeing life through his own beautiful lens and teaching those closest to him the profound value of patience and unconditional love. He shared a deeply tender bond with his mother, and his beautiful habit of always kissing her goodnight will remain a treasured, eternal memory of his sweet and affectionate nature.
Byron had a deep love for spiritual things. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he loved the Bible and in his younger years going out in the ministry with the friends. He found immense joy in listening to Bible talks from the governing body for hours on end. He also cherished playing the piano, a skill he beautifully learned from his grandmother, Mary. Byron loved dogs, always wishing for one of his own. He enjoyed eating, especially when it involved going out to a restaurant.
He is survived by his devoted mother, Constance Elie, his uncles Loveless Frizzell, Louis Frizzell, Thomas Frizzell, and Melvin Frizzell and his aunt Gloria Dercoat. Byron was preceded in death by his father Richard Gabriel Elie, his grandmother, Mary Chambers, and his aunts Doris and Gwen.
As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Constance finds deep comfort in the scriptural promise of the resurrection, looking forward to the time when Byron will be restored to perfect health in a peaceful new world. Constance wishes to extend her heartfelt thanks to the congregation and her dear friends for all the love, care, and unwavering support they gave to her and Byron over the years.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 2:00PM at the Stow Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 4092 State Road 91 in Stow, Ohio.
