January 15, 1971 – June 11, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Angelo Fortini on June 11, 2026.

Mark’s happiness and laughter radiated wherever he went. He touched countless lives as an accomplished, hardworking man who always protected and cared for his family. Some people leave behind memories, but Mark left behind stories, laughter, lessons, and a love that we will never forget.

To know Mark was to know music. Genesis, Phil Collins, and Billy Joel provided the soundtrack to his life and, in turn, became the soundtrack to ours. Whether he was singing, whistling, playing air drums, or pointing to one of his daughters to join him on air guitar, he made even ordinary moments unforgettable. We often teased him about his constant whistling, but today we would give anything to hear it one more time.

Mark was a passionate and dedicated Cleveland Browns fan. His cheers, frustrations, and ear-piercing screams could be heard throughout the house—and probably down the street. Sundays were never quiet when the Browns were playing, and his enthusiasm for his team was unmatched.

If Mark wasn’t watching football or sharing the latest joke, meme, funny video, or comedy skit, he could often be found outside caring for his lawn and garden. He took immense pride in both. Every year, he lovingly grew an abundance of vegetables, herbs, and spices, always finding joy in nurturing something from the ground up. His garden reflected the same patience, dedication, and care that he showed to the people he loved.

He also shared a special bond with his beloved dogs, Bella, Vinny, Meiko, and Casper, who brought him endless companionship and happiness.

Above all, Mark’s greatest pride was his family. He was the proud father of Nicole, Rebecca, and Olivia, and a loving Papa to his grandson, Emileo. One cherished memory is hearing Emileo say, “Papa is strong like the Hulk. I’m gonna be strong like Papa.” Those simple words captured the love and admiration they shared.

A MESSAGE FROM HIS FAMILY

Our story began in 1992 and spanned more than three decades. Together we built a family, raised three beautiful daughters, shared countless memories, and eventually found our way back to one another. Thank you for the laughter, the music, the stories, and the life we shared. Thank you for our girls, our memories, and for being such an important part of my life. I will miss hearing you call my name in a way only you could.

Love always,
Mo / Marinda

Dad, thank you for filling our lives with music, laughter, and memories. Every time I hear Genesis, Phil Collins, or Billy Joel, I will think of you. Thank you for every joke, lesson, and moment we shared. I will carry those memories with me forever.

The world will feel quieter without you.

We will miss the music, the endless memes and jokes, the air drumming and air guitar, the whistling that drove us crazy, the passionate Browns commentary, and seeing you in the garden tending your vegetables, herbs, and spices. Most of all, we will miss you.

We know you are looking down on us now, under the warm sun, with the biggest garden beside you.

We will cherish every memory, carry your love with us always, and keep your spirit alive in our hearts. You will always be loved, deeply missed, and forever remembered.
