Mary M. Molchan (nee Mariotti) 93, passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on June 3, 2024, after suffering a sudden stroke a few days before.

Mary wed Albert P. Molchan in 1950 and shared 55 years together before his passing. She was the loving mother of Diane, John (Shawn), Jeffery (Mary), James and the late Caryl (Wells) Albro and doting grandmother of Alexander, Kathryn, Jacqueline, and Michael Molchan.

Mary graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1949, a time that she always fondly remembered. While her primary focus was raising her young family, Mary also worked outside the home in order to provide for a Catholic education for each of her children. Starting at Stouffer’s on Shaker Square, Mary became the long time Banquet Manager at Lander Haven County Club later followed by positions at prominent event locations like the Hilton Cleveland South and Airport Marriott. Following their retirement, Mary and Al did a little traveling but enjoyed spending their winters at their condominium in Arizona and treasure hunting at garage sales or adding to her collection of depression glass. In addition to tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, she was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles and playing word games. She loved being a grandmother and was actively involved with all of her grandchildren. Always the consummate host, she was known for her exceptional cooking and baking skills and always making everyone feel welcome in her home.

Predeceased by her parents Silla & Concetta Mariotti as well as brothers Camillo “Tom” Mariotti (Julia) and Salvatore “SJ” Marrit (Sally). She was the last of her generation and now her children and her many nieces and nephew are officially the older and (hopefully) wiser generation of the family.

For all of those she loved and touched deeply, please join us celebrating her life on Friday June 28 at St. Ambrose Church 929 Pearl Road in Brunswick. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM with mass at 11 AM and luncheon immediately following.

Interment will be at a later date in the Mariotti family plot at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Cleveland 425 Literary Rd Suite 100, Cleveland, OH 44113 https://www.cff.org/
