With deep sorrow and loving memory, we announce the passing of Janice “Jan” Powers. Jan passed peacefully at the age of 84 at her home in Brook Park, Ohio on June 12, 2026. Beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, sister, friend to all. Jan’s many passions included, helping the people she befriended and encountered throughout life. Devout to Christianity and the Scriptures. Reading and the pursuit of knowledge, information and understanding, excelling in Jeopardy and history. Crotchet, puzzles and card games, music, theatre, gatherings and visiting. Preservation of bees and butterflies. Jan was born of humble roots in McClure, Virginia on January 8, 1942. Through hard work, intelligence and dedication she touched the lives of many. Jan’s free spirit, ability to follow her own heart, step to her own beat and carve her own path led Jan to her many triumphs, during tough times or against odds Jan did not waver. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. If you please, donations may be made to any of the following; Wounded Warrior Project, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, World Wildlife Fund or Charity of Choice.
