Jeannie Lynn Speer (Eaton) age 73 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 15,2026 in the Cleveland Clinic ICU after a courageous battle with small-cell lung cancer. Jeannie was born on June 9, 1952 in Conneaut, Ohio to Juanita (Church) and Gilbert Eaton. She graduated from Conneaut High School in 1970. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Conneaut High School Choir and Marching Band, Girl Scouts, and the Christian Youth Crusaders. She married Arthur Michael Speer on January 29, 1971. They had 2 children; Michael and Heather Speer. She worked at various local factories retiring from Premix Inc. in Kingsville. Jeannie enjoyed reading, playing cards, dice, darts & pool, swimming, camping, and anything that involved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Heather Speer (Timothy Hudson), granddaughter Elizabeth Hudson(Charles Ross), Father Gilbert Eaton, sisters Ruby Eaton, Connie Braden, Peggy(Rich)Kardos, Anita(Terry)Wood, Lisa(Mike)Flanigan, and brothers Wayne Eaton, Mark(Viki) Eaton, and Joel Eaton, Sister-in-law Kathleen Cutshall, daughter-in-law Helen Gamble Speer Holstein(the late Michael Speer) and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Speer, son Michael Speer, mother Juanita Eaton(Church), sisters LouAnn Eaton and Tina Eaton, grandmother Vivian Church, uncle Harry Church, aunt Margie Church, and her beloved pet poodles Cisco, Sassy, and Princess. 

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 4, 2026 at the family home located at 548 Mill St. Conneaut,OH starting at 2pm. Campfire, ClassicRock, and S’mores at dusk.
