Patrick J. Zitiello Sr., age 69, of Brooklyn, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 1, 1956, Patrick was a lifelong resident of the Brooklyn area. He attended Brooklyn High School before proudly answering the call to serve his country in the U.S. Army.
Patrick was a remarkably humble and simple man who found his greatest joy in life’s quiet moments. He loved nothing more than casting a fishing line, sitting by a warm bonfire, and sharing a cup of coffee and a good conversation with his children. He approached life with an open mind, a laid-back spirit, and an appreciation for the simple things.
He is survived by his devoted sons, John Zitiello of Middleburg Heights, Ohio, and Patrick Zitiello Jr. of Mooresville, North Carolina; his cherished grandchildren, Nautica, Tyler, Ryan and Payton; his brothers, David and Kevin; and his sisters, Patty Ann, Karen, and Debbie. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Christine Zychowski, in 2000, and his step-father, Joseph Zychowski, in 2025.
Memorial services will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Date and time will be announced at a later date.
