Frank Gliha, 77, of Lakewood, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on April 2nd, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in Landshut, Germany, on November 6th, 1947, Frank immigrated to the United States at a young age, where his family settled in Cleveland, Ohio. After attending Cleveland South High School, he worked as a welder building ships, including repairs on the Steamship Mather for American Ship Building. He retired after 28 years as a Professional Wastewater Treatment Operator and was known and respected by his family, friends and co-workers for his work ethic, self-sacrifice, and kindness to all.

From an early age, Frank embraced a supportive role for his siblings. This trait continued throughout his life as he took pride in ensuring his family was well-fed, secure, and never lacked for anything. Frank was a Golden Glove boxer, award-winningdarter, and a skilled pool player, having run a Colorado Springs pool hall with his brother, David. He loved fishing, cooking, westerns, and raising his children and grandchildren. A passionate Cleveland Guardians and Ohio State Football fan, Frank gave up on the ‘always next year’ dream for the Browns, but his humor, faith, and empathy never wavered. He was deeply loved and will be missed beyond measure.

Frank is preceded in death by his mother, Hildegard Franke, his step-father Gerald Franke, his brother, David Gliha, and his sister, Patricia Vick. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Anastasia; siblings, Pete Gliha (Donna), Debra Pasek (Gregg), Robin Gliha (Harry), Terry Gliha (Darlene), Elizabeth Franke; children Stacy, Brooke, Frank (Shawna), Chelsea (Zachary), and Nicholas; grandchildren Jeffrey, Ethan, Kasen, Dante, and Riley; and his two dogs, Hattie and Holly.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trials for Hope (trials4hope.org), a non-profit Frank deeply respected for its support of those in need in Greater Cleveland.

Arrangements are entrusted to Malloy-Esposito, Cleveland Burial & Cremation Co. The family invites all to join them for a Celebration of Life, 1-4pm, on Friday, April 25, 2025 at The Woods Restaurant and Event Center, 21919 Center Ridge Rd. Rocky River, Ohio 44116.
