Gerald L.(Jerry/Papa) King, Parma, Oh, at the young age of 94, passed away surrounded by family after complications related to health issues. Jerry was born on September 7th, 1932 and hailed from Malone, New York. He found his way to Ohio after serving in the Army during the Korean War where he started his very large family. Jerry was a caring, honorable man who made everyone smile and feel loved just with his kind heart and funny sense of humor. Jerry loved his faith in God, playing cards, watching westerns, and food….lots of good food. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters, grandson, Justin(JJ)King, son James Rickard Sr., and more recently, his son Ronald King and daughter, Geraldine (Daniel)Scarbro. Jerry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Peggy N. King of Parma, Oh; Brother, Kenny King; son, Robert (Mary Anne) King; Marqueta (Steve) Reedy-Engle; Kimberly (James) Steible; Nichole (Steve) Harris; and Shevon (Ryan) Bennett. Jerry has many Grandchildren: Autumn Rogers, Perry (Angela) McGraw, John McGraw, Jason King, Timothy King, Andrew King, William (Malarie) Gunther, Jake Gunther, Kyle Gunther, Hannah Harris, Brooke (Erin) Harris, Justin (Melanie) Reedy, Marjorie (Terry) Tesmer, James Rickard, and Jeanell Rickard. Jerry also has many great-grandchildren: Chase and Colson, Neveah and Anthony, Tyler, Tatum and William, Hope, Makayla and Tre, Grace, Trinity, Teagan, and McKinley, Caleb, Avery, Alivia, Addison and Cooper.
Jerry is deeply loved; there are no words for how much he will be missed. Rest with love papa. Celebration of life will be held on July 12th, 2026 at 2pm at 6134 Stumph Rd, Community Center.
