I am so sorry that you left the earth so early. I did not get to meet you but I heard about your wonderful poetry. My condolences to the family. May she rest in peace.

    I miss you Stacie,

No words can describe what it’s like to lose you, my best friend. You were my rock through everything. I remember meeting you at the beginning of our sobriety journey, and was so grateful to find community and a friend in someone like you. I couldn’t have made it through those early days without you by my side. Remember when we went ghost hunting? Me you and Lindsey were such an odd group “a Christian, a pagan, and a satanist walk into a graveyard” and yet we all clicked.
You were there when I lost so much in my Sobriety journey as friends and social life and even a job change. You stuck by me as I changed and found myself and would never have been able to know myself without all of our long deep conversations.
You were there two years ago when my endometriosis got so bad I couldn’t walk, or eat, or live. You were the only one who understood how deep the pain was as you were on your journey with that same pain. You advocated for me and truly believed me when doctors and friends did not. I would have never gotten the care and surgery I needed if it wasn’t for you sticking by me. I was so blessed to have someone who understood that struggle, who stayed in with me on bad days, who always checked in, who gave unconditional love and support to me, and that changed me too. I lost everything last year to sickness my job, friends, the ability to truly live and you stuck by me and sat with me in that darkness when no one else would. You took me to doctors appointments and gave me the courage to fight, to find purpose and to live again.
I don’t know how I’m going to do this without you Stacie, without your smile, without our daily talks, our matcha mornings. The ways we found light and laughter in the darkest of times.
You were such a light to everyone you knew. You battled sickness everyday and I know you’re no longer in that terrible pain anymore. You fought for everyone. A better world for those who are suffering even if they were strangers you used your voice to advocate for them.
I have your name tattooed on my arm but it should’ve been in my heart because I will carry you with me always Stacie. I miss you so so much.

Stacie, I’ll never forget when we first met at Edward’s park over in Lakewood. We were all about 13 years old. Us boys were playing baseball and you were watching us from the swings. Eventually you came over and asked us if you could join. From that moment on, we became close friends. My brother and I would be up at that park every day in the summer and you’d be up there either hanging out or playing ball with us. I’ll never forget the time that you were pitching to us and someone hit a ball back at you and it left stick marks from the baseball on you. You shook it off like it was nothing! We made many good memories on that baseball field that I will never forget. Eventually, life started to take place when we got older, but we never lost touch. From helping you move to sharing advice about life to one another. I also remember you sharing your struggles with your health with me, yet you remained so positive and had faith in God. It kept you going. I always thought that was amazing. You were there for me when I was going through a dark period in my life. You were always there when I needed someone. Your kindness, compassion for others and constant positivity will never be forgotten. You were a beautiful soul. I know you’re now at peace with the Lord. Rest easy, Stacie.
