Sharyn Whitely, 79, passed away on October 17, 2026, after a brief battle with lung and bone cancer. She now joins her spouse, Harold “Dan” Whitely, Jr., her departed parents, Bernice and Dick Zimmer, her in-law’s Gladys and Harold Whitely, Sr., and at last her beloved brother and sister, John Stoner and Susan Clark. People will remember her beautiful smile, her “baby blues,” and her infectious laugh. She loved with her whole heart; unconditionally and completely. She especially loved her late husband, Dan; her 5 children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. She also loved her nieces, nephews, and countless great nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her devoted “Twins” daughter; Nicole Musarra Calabrese (Tony), Michelle Musarra Wamsley (Mark), and her 3 loving stepchildren; James Todd Whitely, Karen Whitely Cunningham, and Lesa Whitely Rizzo.
Sharyn lived a full life blessed with 12 beautiful grandchildren: Ashley Myers, Megan Krueger, Antonio Calabrese, Ava Yontosh, Marissa Kelsey, Jessica Gross, Rachel Whitely, Derek Whitely, Chance Bane, Ashton Rizzo, Lexi Cunningham and Logan Cunningham.
She loved sharing with others and bragging, she was a great “Grammy” to 7 great-grandchildren! All her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will testify; she never missed a birthday, anniversary, or holiday card.
At this time, the family would like to thank all the family, extended family, friends, and co-workers, for their outpouring of support with prayers, calls, voicemails, and text messages throughout this difficult time. None were forgotten and every one of them cherished. Thank you. Last, they would like to extend immense gratitude and a heartfelt thank you to Hospice Center, Southwest General’s Thomas P. Perciak Family Residential Hospice. The aids, volunteers, and nurses, who provided kindness and care while Sharyn stayed in her final days and passed while in their care, were nothing short of exemplary and exceptional. We would be remiss not to extend a huge thank you for their devotion and loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests any thoughtful donation to the beautiful Hospice home, Southwest General. This special hospice home and their staff devote tireless, loving care to the sick and most importantly provide dignity and kindness for the dying. It is only with their tireless work and devotion which allows the family to then focus on memories, whispers of love, kisses
