MAGGARD, RICKEY

Devoted husband and father MAGGARD, Rickey “Rick” age 62, passed March 23rd, 2023.Rick is survived by his loving wife Sharon Maggard (Dutton.) The two were each others life long companions and best friends for 42 years. They were blessed with two daughters Jessica, and Kayla. Rick worked as a service worker for the City of Parma Hts for 33 years. He was a talented carpenter who loved fixing everything. His favorite pass time was being with his family, joking around, listening to music, and playing air guitar. Rick was a survived by his wife Sharon; children Jessica (Mark) Ziemski, Kayla Maggard; ten siblings, many nieces and nephews, and friends. Rick was preceded in death by his mother Audrey Thompson and father Ray Maggard. Rick will be remembered most for his ability to light up any room he walked into. It was impossible to leave his presence without sharing at least one laugh. Rick was thought of as a father figure by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Celebration for Ricks life will be held on April 6th 2023 from 6-8PM at The Malloy-Esposito Celebration Center 6384 Pearl Rd. Parma Heights, OH 44130.

Evangeline K. Jordan (Klies) Born February 4th 1940, entered into heaven on 21 March 2023, preceded in death by her husband of over 51 years William D. Jordan Sr. Daughter of Otis Klies and Augusta (Miller). Mother of Gail Stansberry (Margie Lucas) of Florida, Renee Stansberry (Jack Williams) of Texas, William D Jr (Joni), Michael J. (Christine), First Sergeant Ret. John D. (Kathy) of Indiana, Timothy (Melody) and George K. (Shannon Longan) of Texas. Sister of George Klies (Sally), Marion Klies (Larry Williams), Charles Klies (Joan) of Chandlersville OH. Also surviving, 21 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren. Retired as an Owner and Real Estate Broker serving her community for over 40 years. Evangeline loved her family, friends and many other things later in life especially Diamond Art Painting with her daughters Tina and Kathy as well as nieces Suzy, Lori and Amy. Cheryll Anne Martin September 4, 1963 - March 10, 2023 Cheryll Anne Martin, the beloved wife of Glenn Martin, passed away on March 10, 2023 after battling a series of illnesses. She leaves behind her mother Jeanne, sister Laura, four nephews, God mother aunt Madeline, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Preceeded in death by her father Howard Glancy and brother Howard Jr. Cheryll had a passion for many things. Starting with her and Glenns cats, her Irish heritage, football, especially the Cleveland Browns, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and Notre Dame. What stood out the most was the love she had to offer. If she loved you, you knew it. If she didnt.. well, you knew that too. (ha-ha) Her big heart, her matter of fact personality, quick wit, and contagious laugh were only a few of the pieces of the puzzle that was Cheryll Anne Glancy Martin. She will be deeply missed, may she live on in our hearts. Plant some flowers, adopt a pet, and for the love of all that is good and pure, let the Browns win!

KELLY, BARBARA

Barbara Carol Kelly passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday March 3rd 2023. She was 84 years old. She is survived by her daughters Melanie Dion and Kellene Dion and her son Damian Dion. She had four grandchildren: Tanya Sadler of Idaho, Daniel Wamsher and his wife Meijing of California, Alexis and Alyssa Dion of Ohio as well as two great grandchildren Samantha and Weston (and Hayley on the way). She had many nieces and nephews. Barb was known for her sense of adventure and had traveled extensively. She was crafty and creative and loved to garden. She lived an active lifestyle, teaching gymnastics and enjoying Jazzercise. She was a great ice skater, loved to roller blade and skied both in Ohio and Tahoe. She was a gym member until 2020. She was musical and played piano and loved classical music but also enjoyed contemporary music. She never turned down a lunch date with her many friends, a card game with neighbors or visiting museums or artists with her Gallery Group. William Thomas Farrer Jr., 93, of Lakewood, sadly passed away on March 5, 2023. Tom was born to William Thomas Farrer Sr. and Ila Jeanette (Fawcett) on March 9, 1929, in Peoria, Illinois. His family will remember him as a man who had stories for days, jokes to follow, and more wisdom than time to share. Tom was preceded in death by Sandra (85), his wife of 44 years, his sister, Ethel Ann Riha (87), his son, Scott (62), and former wives Barbara Hedrick (40) and Eileen Turner (76). He is survived by his little sister Dorothy Spychalski and his children Mary Jane Till, Steven (Dawn), Dave (Sharon), and Tommy (Linda), his stepchildren Diane Castle, Terry (Lynne) Hinkle, Kevin (Laura) Hinkle and Greg Bradford. He will be greatly missed by his much loved and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Please join us in celebrating Tom’s life this Saturday, March 11, 2023, with an open house from 12 – 6 at Tommy and Linda’s house. We will have a special tribute for Tom’s son, Scott, who unexpectedly passed away January 26, 2023.

BROBERG, GARY

In loving memory of Gary F Broberg, Berea OH. 73, Gary passed away peacefully on Thursday February 28th. He was born in Lakewood Ohio and the beloved son to the late Oscar and Sophie Broberg. Gary is survived by his dear brothers Jack Broberg (Ruth/deceased) and Bob Broberg (Carleen). He was a beloved Uncle and Great- Uncle to many nieces and nephews; and he was a great friend to many. He will be greatly missed. Gary was involved in many business ventures through the years, but is known throughout Cleveland for his various businesses with his service dogs. He truly loved his dogs (Bella, Tilly & Maggie). In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Gary’s name to Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, Ohio. Gary was a Veteran of the US Army. Private funeral services were held on Thursday March 9th at 9:30 am. They were at The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where he received full military honors. The arrangements were made by Malloy-Esposito Funeral Home.

George Thomas Hrbek was born June 20, 1931, in New York City, to George Edward Hrbek and Bertha Hrbek (nee Bozinka Kubelka). He died at home on February 19, 2023, surrounded by his family. George was a community activist, passionate advocate for racial and economic justice, and preacher of an inclusive, life-affirming faith. George was raised in New Jersey in a lively, intergenerational Czech family populated by elders with unorthodox politics. He witnessed to this childhood as anchoring him in the values he carried for a lifetime. As a teenager, he met an unassuming, blue-jean clad man on the streets who turned out to be a Lutheran minister. The Rev.Arthur Hawlicheck spoke a clear message that further validated what George learned from his family: “You are created by God and there's nobody who can add to your worth as a human being, and there's nobody who can take away from your worth. You are gifted. On Thursday February 9, 2023 ​Our Dear Mother Deanne Nestor passed away suddenly and peacefully surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife to Fredrick Nestor (Deceased) and is survived by her son Kevin (Laura) and Thomas. Has three grandchildren Patrick (Beatrice) Nestor– Brian (Teague) Nestor– Erin Nestor and has four great grandchildren Jack – Lewis – Ellen and Finnegan. Her career was mostly in accounting and corporate book keeping and enjoyed many years performing those talents for Eaton Center and the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds in Berea, Ohio. ​She loved spending time cooking traveling and boating over the years and was active in the VFW hall in Strongsville. She enjoyed her dogs and all the dogs in her family.
