Rehark, Norman

Norman G. Rehark, Jr. (Norm) died unexpectedly on Nov. 8, 2023 in Westlake, Ohio where he lived for more than forty years. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 20, 1941 to the late Norman Rehark, Sr. and Elizabeth (nee Durk) Rehark. He lived most of his life in northeastern Ohio with part of his childhood spent in Mayville, New York. He was a master plumber, having graduated from Lakewood High School and Max Hayes Vocational School. He was a talented wood carver and delighted in giving away many carvings. He also made several metal sculptures as well as wood sculptures. He also enjoyed gardening and camping. With his family, he went on camping vacations to places around the United States, but mostly to Northern Minnesota where he enjoyed fishing, boating, and canoeing. He was a loving, caring, kind person with a great sense of humor. He leaves behind his wife of nearly fifty six years, Christine (nee Lanner), his sons Erik and Michael, daughter-in-law Ann (nee West), grandchildren Hunter and Hallie, brother Jeffrey and numerous other relatives. Franciscus, Leo Charles

Leo Charles Franciscus, 94, passed away on November 28, 2023. He was the beloved husband of his late wife, Joyce, for 56 years and a wonderful father to Joy (Eddie) Powers, Lee (Angie), Jerry (Megan), and Larry (Laurie), and a cherished grandpa to Gabrielle, Brock, Blake, and Nicholas Powers; Dillon, Devon, Clare, Kate Marie, and Molly Franciscus; and Andrew Boutell. Leo enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After his four years of service, he attended the University of Pittsburgh where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He had a long and successful career at NASA's Lewis Research Center as an Aerospace engineer and was awarded two United States patents for his work on rocket engines. After retirement, Leo enjoyed working on his Mustang cars, sailing his sailboat on Lake Erie, swimming laps at the local pools, and relaxing at his lakeside cottage in Huron. Sherman, Sally

Sally Sherman passed away Friday, November 17, 2023. She was born August 25, 1965, to the late Russell and Audrey Sherman in Elyria, Ohio. Sally faced her illness as she did her life, with quiet acceptance and peaceful gratitude for her family. Sally's joy was found in spending time with her family, playing cards or watching sports. Sally was employed for over 35 years with Vocational Guidance Services. There was never a family gathering she missed. She was a devout Catholic who loved her Lord. In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her infant sisters, Grace and Mary. Sally will be dearly missed by her brothers, Russell (Michele), and Steven (Linda); and sisters, Vivian (Michael- deceased), and Karen (Kim-deceased); and many nieces and nephews. A private mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Monday, November 27, 2023, and she will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery. In Sally's honor, donations can be made to Hospice of Western Reserve.

Gareau, Darla

Darla Jean Gareau peacefully passed away on November 1st, 2023. She courageously lost her battle with endometrial cancer at home surrounded by family and friends. She was born on October 29, 1962 to Donna (nee Dial) and the late Donald “Buddy” Gareau. Darla’s spirit will live on through the father of her children James Wayne, her three daughters; Courtney, Hannah, and Rebecca, her grandchildren; Adrianna, Mila, Alayna, and Brady, she was known as Aunt Lala to her many nieces and nephews, her siblings; Dennis-Loucinda, Donald, Daneen-Rob, Dawn-Sam, Donna Rae-Kirk, her late sisters Diana and Danelle. Darla made everyone feel like family and was the life of the party. She loved entertaining and being surrounded by family and friends. She was a mother figure to all. Her greatest joy in the whole world was her grandchildren. Darla’s wishes were to be cremated, she will be posted in the bulletin at St. Mary’s of the Falls. On Saturday and Sunday November 11th and 12th at Noon mass, and mentioned in the program on Wednesday November 15th at 7:00 am. Her daughters will continue to host a fundraiser at Razzles in Olmsted Township on November 17th for her final expenses/celebration of life.
