Daniel S. Draeger, 83, passed away peacefully on September 24 after a short stay at Ames House of Western Reserve Hospice in Westlake. He was born on January 23, 1937 in Lakewood to the late Carl and Isabelle (Miles). After graduating from Rocky River High School in 1955, Dan joined the Navy Reserves. Upon returning from the Navy, he met his wife, Kay Fauver. Kay passed away in 1980 after 25 years of marriage. They are survived by their three children, Patti Safford (Bill) of Bay Village, Rick of Strongsville, and Lisa Roach (Michael) of Libertyville, IL. Dan excelled in his career as a sales manager for S & S Merchandise in Cleveland. He cherished his years spent in Al Koran as a 32nd Degree Mason and as an active member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Dan enjoyed history and keeping up with current events. He found passion in his hobbies of boating, fishing, and photography, which he enthusiastically shared and centered around his family. He is survived by his three children, his brother Dennis Draeger (Carol) of Hilton Head, SC, his five grandchildren Lindsay, Josh, Jack, Halle, and Libby, and great grandson Henry. Dan will be laid to rest at Lakewood Park Cemetery in Rocky River, Ohio, in a private service with his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ames House of the Western Reserve Hospice.
