November 28, 1940 – December 11, 2025

Jean A. Fragazi (née Hastings), age 85, passed away on December 11, 2025, at the Normandy Care Center, surrounded by her loving family. Jean was the beloved wife for 41 years of the late Robert A. “Bob” Fragazi.

Jean was born on November 28, 1940, to Thomas and MaryAnne (Coyne) Hastings. Jean and Bob grew up together in the same neighborhood, surrounded by family since childhood. Because family was so important to both of them, they delayed their wedding for more than a year when Jean was grief-stricken by the death of her mother shortly before their originally planned wedding date. Jean passed away on December 11, 2025—the same day Bob was buried in 2007.

Bob and Jean lived in Cleveland and Rocky River before eventually making their home in Elyria, where they spent over 28 years. Jean assisted Bob in setting up an office supply company, where they worked side by side to build a successful business.

Jean was a devoted member of the Elyria Women’s Club, serving as president from 2000–2004 and again from 2010–2012, becoming the only woman in the club’s history to hold two presidential terms. She also served on the Board of Trustees from 2013–2014. Jean made lifelong friends wherever she went. She was also an active member of St. Jude’s Parish and supported numerous charitable endeavors.

After Bob’s passing, Jean moved to North Olmsted to be closer to her siblings, daughter, and grandchildren. She remained close with her Elyria/Avon lunch group and treasured their regular outings.

Jean loved her extended family immensely and was a proud grandmother and aunt to many. She delighted friends and family with stories of her parents and childhood, often quoting her mother with a spot-on Irish brogue. She especially enjoyed traveling with her sister Mary (“Sis”) to destinations such as Disneyland, Alaska, and Ireland, where she cherished visiting family homesteads and meeting extended relatives.

Jean was the loving mother of Kathleen Kaizer (fiancé David Letsky); cherished grandmother of Jace Kaizer and Kacey Marie Kaizer (fiancé Zach Egler); dear sister of Mary A. Hastings; and sister-in-law of Julie Fragazi. She was preceded in death by her siblings Thomas (Mary Angela), William (Mary), and Margaret (Stanley) Capron. She was a beloved aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
