Mary Ellen Zimmermann, nee Baumgardner, age 96, passed away June 29, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Harry. Loving mother of LeAnn Barnhart, Bill (Kari), Diane (Steve Hershberger), Tom and John (Karin). Grandmother of Jessica Armstrong, Joshua Barnhart (Rose), Sarah Barnhart (Jeff Leppert), Jim Barnhart (Megan), Julia Zimmermann, Bob Zimmermann and Elizabeth Zimmermann. Great Grandmother of Tommy Armstrong, Alex Leppert, Makayla Barnhart, Kalysta Leppert, Seth Leppert and Olivia Barnhart. Sister of the late Merle Baumgardner of Creede, Colorado. Good friend and neighbor to many and mom to numerous pets.

She was born in Oberlin, Ohio, grew up in Wellington and raised her family in Lakewood. She was an active member of Lakewood United Methodist Church and the Women’s Board at Beck Center for the Arts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Hospice of the Western Reserve, West Side Community House, or Lakewood United Methodist Church.

A celebration of life service for family and friends will be held at Lakewood United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 20th 2022. Details to follow.
