DAVID L. BLY, age 89 passed away October 21, 2024 due to Alzheimer’s disease. Dearly beloved husband of Jean; Loving father of Ken (Kathy) Bly; cherished grandfather of Justin (Emily), Amanda Bezares (Michael), and a devoted great grandfather. Preceded in death by his first wife Ruth, and his daughter Janice Field. Dave was a retired member of the Westlake Police Department. During his 30 years of service, he held all ranks including that of police chief from 1986 to 1992. He was a member of the Westlake Police Department pistol team, and an expert marksman. Upon retirement, he was secretary/treasurer of the Retired Ohio Police Chiefs Association. He loved bowling and playing softball for the Huff-N-Puffers Senior Softball League. Other hobbies included woodworking and genealogy where he was able to trace his family back to the 1600’s. All services were private. Memorial contributions can be made to Christ Church, 23080 Royalton Road, Columbia Station, Ohio where he was a longtime member.
