He served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a machinist. He was a brother, uncle and great-uncle who was loved and will be greatly missed. Beloved wife of the late Robert, loving mother of Beth, Scott, Lauren Mueller (Wally) and the late Mark, dear grandmother of Max and Bailey Mueller. Music teacher for North Olmsted City Schools for 20 years as well as a Suzuki piano teacher to dozens of area children. SHAFFER

SHAFFER, GEORGE F. GEORGE F. SHAFFER, 85, passed away peacefully December 3, at Harbor Court in Rocky River. Born February 20, 1927 in Plymouth, Ohio to the late Harold and Inez Shaffer. Served his country in the U.S. Navy as a signal man during the Invasion of Okinawa. He earned a BA from Wittenberg University, then attended Chicago Lutheran Seminary and Hamma Divinity School at Wittenberg. After serving in pastoral programs for the Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Service Society, he received his MSSA from Case Western Reserve University. As a social worker, he worked for Family Service Association and later for the Benjamin Rose Institute in Cleveland. George loved travel, biking and nature and he was much involved in A Course in Miracles. He is survived by loving cousins and friends. Memorial services on Thursday, December 27 at Unity Spiritual Center, 23855 Detroit Road, Westlake, Ohio at 11 a.m. Private burial at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio.
