Gareau, Darla

Darla Jean Gareau peacefully passed away on November 1st, 2023. She courageously lost her battle with endometrial cancer at home surrounded by family and friends. She was born on October 29, 1962 to Donna (nee Dial) and the late Donald “Buddy” Gareau. Darla’s spirit will live on through the father of her children James Wayne, her three daughters; Courtney, Hannah, and Rebecca, her grandchildren; Adrianna, Mila, Alayna, and Brady, she was known as Aunt Lala to her many nieces and nephews, her siblings; Dennis-Loucinda, Donald, Daneen-Rob, Dawn-Sam, Donna Rae-Kirk, her late sisters Diana and Danelle. Darla made everyone feel like family and was the life of the party. She loved entertaining and being surrounded by family and friends. She was a mother figure to all. Her greatest joy in the whole world was her grandchildren. Darla’s wishes were to be cremated, she will be posted in the bulletin at St. Mary’s of the Falls. On Saturday and Sunday November 11th and 12th at Noon mass, and mentioned in the program on Wednesday November 15th at 7:00 am. Her daughters will continue to host a fundraiser at Razzles in Olmsted Township on November 17th for her final expenses/celebration of life.

CHRISTOPHER HAGGARTY, age 37, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Loving father of Allannah. Cherished son of Karen Haggarty. Dear brother of Kyle Haggarty. September 29 1972 - October 23 2023 Shane was born in Cleveland Ohio. Born to Linda June Gustafson and Father Billy (deceased). Shane leaves behind 4 children Corey, Ella ,Wesley and Lydia. Sister Bonny ,Brother Jim. Uncle to Ryan , Aaron and Seth. Nieces Amanda and Megan. Grandfather to Shane, Jayden and Kyler. Great nieces Arielle, Aaliyah, Kaylee, Rylee and Kinsley. Great nephews Aaron Jr, Vantino and Ryan Jr. Cousin to Cynthia. Shane was a “tinker” truly a jack of all trades. He loved to take things apart and put them back together his own way. But whatever he did he always knew how to make it work. Shane worked for several different tree companies for many years. Even though he was afraid of heights he loved going up in the crane and reaching for the sky and surpassing his fears. Shane cherished his family and friends. He was never unavailable for anybody. Though he will be missed he will never be forgotten. Loving you always forgetting you never. To honor Shane’s memory, We are holding a Celebration of his life. June Irene Pierce, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed peacefully on August 11, 2023, at home surrounded by family. Born on August 17, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of John S. and Dorothy (Merifield) Johnson. June was a longtime resident of Cleveland and was retired from the Washington International Group.  She was an avid baker known by many for her beautifully decorated cookies and delicious desserts. June was preceded in death by her parents and sister Ruth J. Kozman. She is survived by her brother John S. (Mary) Johnson Jr. of Columbus, sister Jeanne Cooper Kovach of Columbus, step-daughter Dawn Sandwich (Ed) of Perrysburg, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins, step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, and many dear friends and neighbors. June had a great faith in God. She was dedicated to and loved all her family and friends.  June will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Graley, Crystal

On Thursday October 5th, 2023, Crystal Graley passed away in the loving arms of her husband Phillip. She is survived by her father Dennis Tippie, sister Kelly Vrooman, and nephew Logan Hendrocks. She is also survived by father-and-mother-in-law David and Mary Graley, sisters-in-law Alicia Graley and Adrienne Rozar (Jalen Rozar). Nieces Hannah and Eliana and nephew Dominic. She is preceded in death by her beautiful daughter Cora Ann Flemming (18), and her mother Colleen Tippie, and beloved dogs Skyler and Baxter. Crystal was an amazing person with a kind heart and a beautiful soul. Her passion in life was caring for all animals big and small. If there was an animal in need she was always there to help. She would bring home stray and injured animals and do her best to bring them back to health. She would never give up on them even if she knew they were beyond saving. She also had a passion for gardening. In her final spring she started all her vegetables from seeds. She constructed a greenhouse for her plants, and she was able to watch them grow. Englander, Scott

Scott (Skip) A. Englander, a lifelong Clevelander, and die-hard Browns fan known for shouting “catch the ball!” has passed away at sixty-eight years old on October 7, 2023 due to cancer. He passed peacefully in his home, cared for by his children and daughter-in-law. Skip attended and played football for Brush High School and Ohio Wesleyan University. He was a high school football coach at his Alma Mater, and he worked alongside his father, a WWII Veteran in the 101st Airborne, David Englander, to run their family business, Englander Hardwood Lumber. In retirement, he drove students at Case Western Reserve University who were injured and needed help getting to and from their classes. He was a family man, and his greatest pride was in raising his three children. He poured all of his love for athletics, coaching, and storytelling into his kids, and they benefited greatly from his humor, support, and encouragement. He taught his children to believe in themselves, to stand up for what they believe in, and that not just Sunday but everyday is for watching football.
