“It is with deepest sorrow and loving memory that we announce the loss of our father, Lawrence John Cruse Jr. He suffered from a medical condition that was left untreated, and passed unexpectedly in his home in Cleveland just days before his 59th birthday. Many of us knew Larry as a chef, a lover of music, and a man full of passion for charity. He worked hard daily and cared deeply for his friends and family. Larry was lost after the passing of his parents, Sandy and Larry Sr., but we have peace knowing he finally feels whole and found again. Dorothy Margaret Gibbons ended her 97-year journey through this world on Monday the 28th of September. She was a bright light to family and friends and to so many others she met along the way; it was a life of giving she shared with us. While she was born to Marie and George Davis in Detroit, Michigan, her family ended up living in Cleveland, where she graduated from John Hay High School. She abandoned a budding clerical career, feeling the call to enlist in the Navy in 1943. She served for three years, stationed at a Navy hospital in Seattle, earning the rank of Chief Pharmacist's Mate. After the war, she continued her education in Cleveland where she was introduced to James Gibbons, with whom she would ultimately share 67 years in Holy Matrimony. She lovingly raised two boys while being a housewife and helpmate to Jim as he forged his industrial sales career and created his own company. She shared many happy times with her family, the four of them traveling the country visiting relatives and just exploring. James (Jim) Burk passed away at his home in North Royalton at the age of 61. Loving father of Danielle Herron (Tristian), grandfather to Nova Grace. Jim is preceded in death by his father Donald Burk (Patricia) and mother Helen Burk. He is also survived by his sister Karen. Jim was an avid fan of NASCAR and all Cleveland sports. He was a hard worker and loved his family very much. Becoming a grandfather made him so happy and he was very proud of that. He lit up when Nova was around and you could see how much he loved her. Jim was a simple man. His favorite thing to do was to hang out with friends and relax with a cold beer. He battled with quite a few health issues and he still remained in good spirits through it all. Jim was a great father and was quite the jokester. Jim never liked being the center of attention and per his wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of a funeral, I ask that you have a cold one in his honor. He’d want you to celebrate his life, rather than mourn his death.

David Wayne Newton, 56, of Cleveland, Ohio passed away on September 23, 2020 after a battle with chronic liver disease. David was born on January 28, 1964 to James and Mary Newton in Houston, Texas. After graduating from Nimitz High School in 1982, he went on to study at Abilene Christian University. After leaving ACU, David moved to Tyler, Texas and began his lifetime career in telecommunications. Within a short time, he started his own business, Newton Consulting Services. In his spare time, David enjoyed fishing, playing softball, and his ultimate passion officiating basketball at the high school and collegiate levels. David was preceded in death by his father, James Newton. He is survived by his daughter, Erin Moore-Newton; his mother, Mary Newton; his brother, Mike Newton and family; his sister, Kris Newton; his uncle, Russell Newton; his aunt, Jean Jackson; and his aunt, Jo Ann Russell. A memorial service for David will be held Saturday, October 10th at 2:00 pm at the Church of Christ in Jersey Village, 8810 Jones Rd, Houston, TX 77065. Edward D. Morey, 65, passed away at his home after a long illness on Monday, September 28, 2020. Edward was born on March 17, 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio. Daniel S. Draeger, 83, passed away peacefully on September 24 after a short stay at Ames House of Western Reserve Hospice in Westlake. He was born on January 23, 1937 in Lakewood to the late Carl and Isabelle (Miles). After graduating from Rocky River High School in 1955, Dan joined the Navy Reserves. Upon returning from the Navy, he met his wife, Kay Fauver. Kay passed away in 1980 after 25 years of marriage. They are survived by their three children, Patti Safford (Bill) of Bay Village, Rick of Strongsville, and Lisa Roach (Michael) of Libertyville, IL. Dan excelled in his career as a sales manager for S & S Merchandise in Cleveland. He cherished his years spent in Al Koran as a 32nd Degree Mason and as an active member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Dan enjoyed history and keeping up with current events. Steven Vincent Dutton, age 55 passed away September 20th, 2020 after battling cancer at Cleveland Clinic with his two loving sons by his side. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 6th, 1965 to Charles and Peggy (Baker) Dutton. Steve attended both Thomas Jefferson and Gilbert Public Schools. He was employed at Reilly Painting as well as owning his own company, Steve's Quality Care where he was a painter and carpenter. Steve enjoyed fishing, grilling, amusement parks, being outdoors and he was especially proud of all of his exhibits he had built for the Children's Museum. On Friday, September 11, 2020, Linda Aguirre, loving mother, grandmother of four, and Great-Grandmother of two, passed away suddenly, at the age of 76. Linda was born on November 6, 1943 in Neu Schowe, Yugoslavia to Stefan and Elizabeth and one sister, Lore. The family moved to the United States in hope for a bright future in 1952. Making their new lives in Cleveland, Ohio, Linda and family learned to speak English, went to school, found employment and got married. Linda raised one son Aaron and was very involved in the lives of her grandsons, Jonathan, Matthew, Christopher and Michael.
