Velma Helena Brokate McMillin went home to be with the Lord on May 3, 2014. Velma was the oldest child born to Clarence and Adelaide Brokate. She was born on December 21, 1920 in Fremont, Ohio. She graduated from the University of Toledo in June of 1943 with a Bachelor of Science in Home economics after which she was employed as Cafeteria Manager for GE’s Cleveland Wire Works and later was Cafeteria Manager for Colonnade Cafeterias in downtown Cleveland until March of 1976.
