Slanker, LouAnn

LouAnn Slanker (nee Burgun) passed away on Monday June 24, 2024 at the age of 64. She was born on September 20 1959 in Cleveland Ohio. She was a devoted wife of Brian Slanker (deceased) and loving mother of Amanda Felletti (Kris), Valiere Slanker, Ashley Boss (Connor), and Jeremy Slanker (Julie). Beloved sister to RG (Sandy) and sister in law to Jimmy Slanker (Terry). She was an adored aunt to many blood relation or not. Dearest friend to many. She was a devoted gardener and a voracious reader who was known for having a large collection of Santa Clauses. A private memorial will be held at a later time.

Prida, Tony

Tony J. Prida, 78, died after years of many health issues, June 15, 2024 at Middleburg Heights health and rehabilitation center. He was born March 25, 1946 at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Son of Raymond J. Prida and Mary A. (KIJEK) Prida. After high school he served with the United States Navy. He served with the Pacific Fleet in the Vietnam Theater and in the Atlantic Fleet throughout Europe as a signalman. He was on Destroyer Escort, USS Stribling from 1963 with honorable discharge in 1969. Anthony married Peggy Ann (Plesz) from March 2, 1968 for 22 years. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a baby sister Raquel, Connie, and Rick Prida. Surviving are Ricks wife Linda, their 3 children and families, surviving younger brother Tim and wife Ruth. Surviving in addition are his 5 children Raquel, Tony M. (Leah) Dean (Wendy) Timmy (Michelle) and daughter Andrea. 6 grandchildren Brittany, Taylor, Madison, Dylan, Niko, and McKenzie. 5 great-grandchildren Caden, Ava, Milo, Isabel and Sophia along with many nieces and nephew’s that called him “Uncle Buddy” and many cousins. He especially enjoyed time spent fishing and camping at Pymatuning lake.

Molchan, Mary

Mary M. Molchan (nee Mariotti) 93, passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on June 3, 2024, after suffering a sudden stroke a few days before. Mary wed Albert P. Molchan in 1950 and shared 55 years together before his passing. She was the loving mother of Diane, John (Shawn), Jeffery (Mary), James and the late Caryl (Wells) Albro and doting grandmother of Alexander, Kathryn, Jacqueline, and Michael Molchan. Mary graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1949, a time that she always fondly remembered. While her primary focus was raising her young family, Mary also worked outside the home in order to provide for a Catholic education for each of her children. Starting at Stouffer’s on Shaker Square, Mary became the long time Banquet Manager at Lander Haven County Club later followed by positions at prominent event locations like the Hilton Cleveland South and Airport Marriott. Following their retirement, Mary and Al did a little traveling but enjoyed spending their winters at their condominium in Arizona and treasure hunting at garage sales or adding to her collection of depression glass. Samas L Green of Cleveland Ohio known as “PEEWEE” was born September 11,1962 to Elaine Turner(proceeded him in death) & Samas L Green Sr. He passed away peacefully in his sleep the morning of June 8, 2024. He loved his family dearly. His wife Cynthia L. Deaver Green proceeded him in death in 2015 after Christmas. He is survived by his son Samario, Sister Tonya, brother Morrio sr. He was also loved by a host of family, friends and loved ones. May he forever dance in heaven above.

Wright, Donald

Donald Claire Wright (Don) passed away on May 20. Don was born on December 27th, 1944, in Meadville, Pennsylvania to Arden and Helen Wright. He served in the U.S. Army, including spending part of his enlisted time in Alaska, where he learned to weld and worked on the Alaskan pipeline. After his time in the Army, he moved to Los Angeles, where he met and married his wife, Colleen. While in Los Angeles, he worked for Shelby-American and helped to build the Shelby GT40 that would eventually race and win at Le Mans. He moved to Cleveland to start a family, and co-founded Pierce-Wright Precision, a welding and fabricating company. While driven professionally, he devoted most of his energy to being a loving husband, and a devoted father to his three children. He loved taking the family on camping trips, bike rides, and always made holidays extra special. Don was a man who believed in hard work, individuality, honesty, and direct communication. Jester, Larry

"Larry Jester is the beloved father of Zak (Sarah) and Taylor, grandfather of Elijah and Benedict. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Melvin and Phyllis Jester (nee Coffman). Larry is best known as the front man for City Heat. He had a great love for music, a passion for being on stage, and didn't mind being the center of attention. He also enjoyed the Three Stooges, Cedar Point, and playing the Lottery. Larry would say that he is most proud of his sons and grandsons, whom he loved spending time with at the zoo, a concert, or even just lunch at his favorite restaurant. Larry’s wishes were to have a celebration of life. Join us on Thursday, May 30th from 6pm-9pm at RollHouse North Olmsted. Grab a drink, have a bite to eat, listen to some hot tunes, and tell some amazing stories! Funeral services will be held the following morning, Friday, May 31st at 11am at St. Raphael Parish in Bay Village. Please join us to pray as we send him to his place of rest. Curtis Edward Treska (December 10, 1934 - May 10, 2024) Rejoice with us as our dear “Kirk”, Dad, Grandpa, GGpa, and friend has gone to heaven! He left us peacefully at his home in South Hills in Cleveland on May 10th, 2024. He was 89 years old and a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. He was surrounded by his wife, Priscilla, children, grandchildren, friend and priest friend Father Joe McNulty. Bayless, William

William Niven Bayless passed away at home, with family, on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024. Bill, born January 28th, 1941, was the son of William “Neville” Bayless and Margaret Bayless and the brother of Ronald, Robert, Thomas, and David Bayless. The family spent their upbringing in Rocky River, OH, where Bill and his brothers attended St. Christopher Elementary and St. Ignatius High School. Bill attended Loyola University Chicago (BA), majoring in philosophy. He continued his passion for philosophy and learning at The University of Chicago (MA) and for his doctorate at Brown University (PhD). He initially pursued academia and served as a professor at Rutgers University, before a shift to governmental work. He proceeded to work at the Cleveland branch for the Department of Housing and Urban Development and served as a federal employee for 44 years before retirement. He spoke highly of federal work and expressed utmost gratitude for a career that provided well for his family. He followed in his father’s footsteps as an active member of The Cheshire Cheese Club, where Neville previously served as the president. Joseph Palange - Age 86. Devoted husband of Ruth(deceased) for 53 years. Father of Terence (Gilda) Palange, and Brigit Willis (Jeremy). Cherished “Pa Joe” of Courtney, Morgan and Dominic Palange, and Lauren, Jordan, and Brooke Willis. Son of the late Catherine Palange, Dante Palange, and Louis Sottosanti. Dear brother of Dante(deceased) Patricia Palange, Michael (Karen) Palange, Anthony Sottosanti(deceased), Josephine Jindra (John), and Marie Bir (James, deceased). Uncle, friend, and mentor to many. Joe was employed by General Motors-Chevrolet for 40 years and was a proud Navy veteran serving on the USS-Leyte, CVS-32. He was a former youth coach for many years, as well as a Big Brother for Catholic Charities. The family would like to express their gratitude to those who have provided care for dad the past few years.
